About Chrome Hearts Purchase
Leave it to us to purchase your Chrome Hearts jewelry! Chrome Hearts was founded by owner and designer Richard Stark, John Bowman and Leonard Kamhout in October 1988. Richard Stark was born on 19th May 1960 in Utica, New York, and lived there up until his high school days. After that, he moved to the New York countryside and lived like a hippie for a period of time. In 1978, he then relocated to California on the West Coast to attend an architectural school, majoring in painting. Upon graduation, he started working at the leather import firm that his father managed, where he became a dealer and seller of leather from all over the world.
As he traveled across America on his beloved Harley Davidson selling leather, he met John Bowman and together they started a business in biker fashion leather goods. As Richard was himself a biker, he started out by creating and designing fashion pieces for himself, but naturally expanded to taking on commission requests from the friends around him. These two who shared a passion for fashion then met Leonard Kamhout, a craftsman in silver engravings. The three of them really hit it off, and they went on to found Chrome Hearts in Malibu in 1988. Even though Chrome Hearts only started out with silver accessories like buttons and fasteners for leather goods, word of mouth quickly spread among the biker community across the whole of America, and so they began selling all kinds of standalone items as well.
In 1990, Intellectual Gallery became the first authorized dealer for Chrome Hearts in Japan, followed the next year by Comme des Garçons in Aoyama. United Arrows also took them on in 1992, which was the same year they received the Designer of the Year award (the highest award in the Accessories category) from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). To date, Chrome Hearts operates multiple brand stores within Japan, and has become a popular fashion and silver accessories brand worldwide. Jewel Cafe is on a campaign to strengthen our purchasing of Chrome Hearts items! We are not only actively looking to purchase items that are in good condition and complete with accessories, but also irregular pieces that are slightly out of shape or have name engravings etc., so you are most welcome to bring them in for appraisal.
